ABSTRACT
Agility in the reverse logistics supply chain has become key success factor in a competitive and
volatile market. I choose to direct my studies in the field of reverse logistics, because it is one of
the most competitive and underrated topics in domain of supply chain.

Reverse Logistics has gained more importance from last few decades due to increase in internet
based online shopping and government laws and regulation on recalling end of life products.
Organizations nowadays fill difficult for smooth running of reverse logistics due to more
complexity involved in processes.
For controlling reverse logistics in an efficient way, the concept of intelligent product plays an
essential role in maintaining sustainable development in the reverse logistics. Intelligent products
are at their early stage of progression and their applications plays an important role in solving
major reverse logistics problems. As intelligent product is a comprehensive topic selected
intelligent products are internet of things(IOT), Radio frequency identification (RFID), blockchain
and cloud computing.
The main focus of this paper was to solve three research questions, first question focused on use
of intelligent product in reverse logistics, second question was based on knowing how intelligent
product can solve major reverse logistics problem and third question was focused on barriers faced
while implementing intelligent product in reverse logistics.
Implementation of intelligent product in reverse logistics will make reverse logistics processed
less complicated due to real time product tracking ability and visibility throughout reverse
logistics. Coordination and lack of information flow between reverse logistics actors will become
a straightforward.
The consequence and finding of this study were able to solve all they research questions with
appropriate literature work. Finally, limitation and future studies in this field was suggested for
further research.
